What Is Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) Lining?

We use CIPP lining here at Clog Busters for sewer repairs to avoid trenches. We start things off by putting a liner into the existing pipe. Then, we fill the liner and cure the new pipe inside of the previous one using steam or UV light (read more below). This procedure encourages restoration of the sewer pipe to near-perfect condition to help avoid having to get a new sewer pipe, which can get pricey.

CIPP lining helps prevent homeowners from needing to invest thousands of dollars in repairs and sewer replacements that they might be spending for some of the same problems you’re facing now.

Click below for a before and after of one of our most recent CIPP projects. The client’s backyard was over 115 feet long, but we got to the sewer through their cleanout. This enabled us to fix all of their issues without digging up the yard or garden, keeping their flowers perfectly intact.

Our Process | CIPP Lining in Gresham

Below is how we approach an installation for CIPP lining in Gresham:

1 – Inspection

Working with Clog Busters is a no-brainer because we can drive to any location in Gresham, whether it be in Rockwood, Kelly Creek, Holly Brook, North Gresham, or South Gresham. We always start with a full examination of the present pipes using a camera before beginning CIPP lining so as to double-check that this is the best option for your sewer system problems.

2 – Setup and Prep

If CIPP lining ends up being a good choice, then we will measure the sanitary sewer so that we can pick out the right size for the new-and-improved sewer line.

3 – Remove Roots and Debris

Going to the next step, we will clean your sewer line with a high-pressure jet. That will help do away with any blockages within the pipe, as well as roots and debris.

4 – Insert Liner, and Establish Sewer Connections

Continuing on, our team will insert the liner into the sewer pipe. (We do this via the cleanout, open pipe, or manhole.) Once the pipe is transposed within the bladder, we then move the camera up the line to validate that the pipe has extended to the ideal location.

After this, we’ll remove the cameras and introduce steam into the line. This will create a pressure of air to go to the edge of the line and through the steam hole. Once the steam has been in the liner for a given timeframe, one of our technicians will examine the bladder again and get the sewer connection set back up if needed.

5 – Conduct Quality Control Test

We’ll make sure to perform quality control tests to verify that your new system is accurately working prior to us finishing our work. Installing CIPP lining in Gresham is no easy task, but Clog Busters has the necessary experience to ensure it’s done right.

Benefits of CIPP Lining Installations

  • Not Destructive to the Landscape: In the majority of sewer line repair and replacement methods, the technicians must dig a hole. With cured-in-place pipe lining, however, we rarely need to dig a trench. That helps preserve your yard.
  • Timely Installation: You don’t have to worry about technicians spending a week at your house when you get CIPP lining for your sewer pipe. It’s fast to install, so you will have your home back to yourself in no time.
  • Affordable: CIPP lining tends to cost way less than a regular excavation method depending on the severity. That’s one of the reasons that CIPP lining services are so highly recommended, on top of their reliability!

FAQs About CIPP Lining

Answers From One of the Leading CIPP Lining Companies in Gresham, OR

1 – Is CIPP Lining Safe?

Absolutely! As we mentioned earlier, cured-in-place pipe lining is a trenchless sewer repair method, so it’s safe for your landscape and our CIPP lining contractors. We even use video recording equipment in the pipes to ensure everything goes well.

You can trust that with our help, the installation will go smoothly, and that will free you up in no time to get back to the city’s many attractions, including the Gresham Japanese Garden, Mt. Hood Community College Planetarium, Zimmerman House Museum and Gardens, or maybe even the Gresham Golf Course.

2 – Can You Use Water During the CIPP Liner Installation?

Sadly, you won’t be able to use water during the installation. That includes running the dishwasher, washing your clothes, taking a shower, or flushing the toilet. You also won’t want to dump any liquids in the sink or bathtub.

There is a chance of the water being backed into the home if you use too much of it, which is why it’s best to steer clear of water during the CIPP liner installation at your Gresham home.

3 – How Long Is the CIPP Liner Curing Process?

Often, it’s about 12-24 hours. Then, of course, we do our quality control checks to make sure everything is good to go.

4 – How Long Does the Cured-in-Place Pipe Last?

That is a great question. CIPP liners can be good for up to 10-30 yours, but that number can even go as high as 50 years in the best-case scenario.

As long as the linings stay intact and in good condition, the water will not back up and have problems with pipes. At the end of the day, that can take a lot of stress off of your shoulders and save you significant money. (Ensuring a proper installation is key.)

5 – What Is the Cost of CIPP Lining?

CIPP lining in Gresham costs about $80-$250 per foot on average, which is more cost-effective than getting a whole new pipe.

Want to hear what our customers have to say about us? Take a look at our reviews.

I had Matt from Clog Busters out to do a sewer inspection on a house I am in contract to buy and he did a great job! He let me watch the scope over his shoulder and explained everything he was seeing as he performed the inspection. He explained the findings in detail at the end and got his report to me that same day. Overall, a great experience and I would recommended Clog Busters to my family and friends in the future.
